Introduction
Since 1985, the Mentoring Tomorrow’s Rising Professionals (MTRP) Program has provided a pathway to strengthen Kentucky’s teacher workforce by supporting future educators committed to serving diverse and growing school communities.
Purpose
The MTRP Scholarship is designed to support full-time or part-time students pursuing initial teacher certification and preparing to serve P–12 students in Kentucky and beyond. The scholarship is open to all eligible students who meet the qualifications listed below.

Scholarship Qualifications
- Be a U.S. citizen and Kentucky resident
- Be working toward initial teacher certification
- Be admitted to the University of Louisville (or eligible for admission at the time of application)
- Be a full-time undergraduate (12+ hours), full-time graduate (9+ hours), or part-time student (undergraduate: 12 hours or more; graduate: 9 hours or more)
- Hold a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA (high school, college, or post-baccalaureate)
- Submit the annual online scholarship application
Deadline
All materials must be submitted by March 1st.
