Extension Program for Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education Certification

About IECE Extension Program
Elementary certified teachers who are interested in extending their license to include Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (Birth to Kindergarten) are eligible for this program.
Kentucky certified Elementary teachers would typically apply to the University of Louisville (https://education.louisville.edu/admission/graduate-admissions) as graduate, non-degree seeking students.
The program requires 15-18 credit hours of graduate courses in IECE. Upon completion of the required courses and field experience, the candidate must pass the required PRAXIS II examination to be recommended for IECE certification. The graduate courses could be combined with the Master of Education in Teaching and Learning for those pursuing Rank II. For teachers already holding Rank II status, the courses can be used toward a Rank I program.
