Empowering future educators

Since our founding in 1985 our mission has been to enrich the educational experience for all by fostering a community of educators who reflect the communities in which we live. This mission is supported by a collaborative effort with the University of Louisville College of Education and Human Development, Jefferson County Public Schools, and the Ohio Valley Educational Cooperative.

MTRP champions the advancement of educators who bring a wealth of perspectives and pedagogical strengths to their teaching, empowering them to engage with and inspire every student in their classroom. We provide substantial support through academic guidance, professional development and other opportunities, ensuring that all educators are equipped to offer a comprehensive and encompassing educational experience.

Our goal is to cultivate an environment where every student benefits from instruction that celebrates a range of cultural understandings and teaching methods. By preparing educators who are adept at fostering rich, respectful, and encompassing learning environments, MTRP contributes to a dynamic, supportive educational ecosystem across Kentucky, the Louisville metropolitan area, and beyond.
