About and Eligibility

Program Dates: May 5-17, 2026 (Applications Due by Friday, November 14, 2025)

Program Leaders: Gin Presley, Anita Moorman, and Ime deCaussin

Estimated Program Cost: $3,000 (includes tuition, accommodations, meals, and all group excursions, and in-country transportation. Students will book their own airfare for arrival in Brisbane, Australia on May 7th, airfare costs are not included in the program fee. 

Credits and Courses: Students accepted into the program will enroll in a 3-credit course (HSS 598 or SPAD 561 Global Learning Program: Australia Sport and Culture Tourfor a second 8 week class during the Spring semester (February 25 – April 22).

About the Program: Students will participate in a first-hand global learning experience that blends an immersive experience in the Australian sport culture. The program is prepared and coordinated by our host country partner, RDK Sports International and will include an 11-day tour of two of Australia’s sports hubs, Brisbane and Gold Coast. Experiences will include tours and meetings with representatives of the 2032 Olympic organizing committee, professional teams or organizations, athlete performance experts, and the NFL Academy. The program is designed to immerse students in the Australian sport, coaching and athlete development, and fitness industries.

Application Information and Eligibility: Applicants must be degree seeking (Minor, BS, MS and doctoral students) in HSS (SPAD/EX SCI/ EXP/HHP) who have completed at least 45 undergraduate credit hours by the program start date. The application deadline is November 14, 2025. Please note that program capacity is limited, so early applications are strongly encouraged. Individual interviews will be scheduled with students upon receipt of applications. Available Scholarships: Students accepted into the program are eligible to apply for Need and Merit-based scholarships. A $500 Student Leader scholarship is also available to interested students.
