Elementary Education (BS)
Type: Major Format: In-Person This program prepares undergraduate students for Kentucky certification in grades P-5. Dual certification options are available.
Middle and/or Secondary Education (BS)
Type: Major | Format: In-Person This program prepares undergraduate students for Kentucky certification in grades 6-12. Dual certification options are available.

Initial Teacher Certification

Earn your Kentucky teacher certification with flexible, accelerated and 'earn-while-you-learn' options.
Secondary Education - Alternative Certification (MAT)
Type: Graduate | Format: In-Person Earn your degree in an accelerated program while working in a paid, full-time teaching position.
Secondary Education, Teacher Residency (MAT)
Type: Graduate | Format: In-Person Designed for career changers and aspiring educators, this program allows residents to earn their degree in one year while working as full-time resident teachers in JCPS.
Music Education (MAT)
Type: Graduate | Format: In-Person This program prepares you for initial certification to teach music education (P-12) in Kentucky, combining coursework with hands-on field experience in local school districts.
Health and Physical Education (MAT)
Type: Graduate | Format: In-Person This program prepares you for initial certification to teach health and physical education (P-12) in Kentucky, combining coursework with hands-on field experience in local school districts.

Advanced Educator Preparation

Teaching and Learning (MEd)
Type: Graduate | Format: In-Person or Online Designed specifically for K-12 certified educators, this program empowers teachers to cultivate leadership skills that impact students and inspire their peers.
Curriculum and Instruction (EdS)
Type: Graduate | Format: In-Person This post-master's program prepares future school leaders so they are well-prepared to lead within their schools, districts or region.
Curriculum and Instruction (PhD)
Type: Graduate | Format: In-Person This program prepares scholars and leaders for faculty positions, research roles and leadership in education and agencies. Tailor your study to your interests and work collaboratively with faculty.
