How to Apply

Create an account to apply for admission; begin application

• Graduate students: create an account here.
• Undergraduate students: create an account here.

Note: Make sure you remember your login information as you will need them during the MEC cycle.

Follow prompts to complete application.

• When prompted, make the following selections for Education Plans:
• Select “College of Education and Human Development".
• Graduate Students: select “Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs – Ft. Knox (MAHESA)” for the degree program.
• Undergraduate Students: select “Organizational Leadership and Learning – Leadership/Training/Development” for the degree program.
• Select “Spring 2026” as the term.

Complete Recommendations section of application.

*Graduate students only

• One recommender will be Tom Burgess from U.S. Army Cadet Command. His email is clifford.t.burgess.civ@mail.mil. Please make sure you select YES to "Use Online Reference Form." Waiving access means that you will not be able to see the recommendation, and you may select either YES or NO.
• The other recommender will be John Lilygren from U.S. Army Cadet Command. His email is john.d.lilygren.civ@mail.mil. Please make sure you select YES to “Use Online Reference Form.” Waiving access means you will not be able to see the recommendation, and you may select either YES or NO.

Submit required admissions documents.

• Graduate Students: Submit goals statement, resume, and unofficial transcripts to the application portal.
• Undergraduate Students: Submit personal statement and unofficial transcripts to mecinfo@louisville.edu.
  
  Note: Do not order transcript – although the application requires official transcript from prior institutions, MEC staff will facilitate the ordering of transcripts for you.

Submit application.
