Tuition Reduction Initiative
The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is offering a reduced tuition rate per credit hour for advanced educator preparation programs. The new tuition reduction rate is approximately 25% less than the current graduate tuition rate.*
*The University of Louisville's base tuition rate is determined annually once the Kentucky State Legislature approves the recommendations from the University and the Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE).
The following graduate education programs will offer the reduced tuition rate.
Initial Licensure Programs, traditional and alternative route options:
Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) with areas of concentration in:
- Interdisciplinary early childhood education (Birth-P) (IECE) (also offered online)
- Elementary education (P-5)
- Health and physical education (P-12)
- Integrated eusic education (P-12)
- Middle school education (5-9) in English, mathematics, science or social studies.
- Secondary education (8-12) in biology, chemistry, earth science, English, mathematics, physics, social studies, French (P-12) or Spanish (P-12)
- Special Education in Learning and Behavior Disorders (P-12) | Online Option
- Special Education in Moderate and Severe Disabilities (P-12) | Online Option
Advanced teacher preparation, including online options where applicable:
- Education Specialist (EdS) in educational administration
- Education Specialist (EdS) in curriculum and instruction
- Rank I - elementary, middle, secondary or special education
- Master of Education (MEd) in teacher leadership (offered online)
- Master of Education in special education (LBD) | (offered online)
- Master of Education in special education (MSD) (offered online)
- Master of Education in school counseling
Endorsement Programs:
- Classroom Reading (offered online)
- English as a Second Language (offered online)
- Elementary Mathematics Specialist (offered online)
- Instructional Technology (offered online)
