Extension Programs for Certified Teachers

Kentucky certified teachers who would like to add a content area or change grade levels may do so through one of the extension programs. These programs do not lead to a degree. If you are interested in transferring them into a degree program, only graduate courses may be considered.

If you would like to be evaluated for one of the options below, please send a copy of all your college or university transcript(s) along with a detailed resume indicating all subjects and grade levels taught to betty.hampton@louisville.edu. Please indicate which program you are interested in pursuing:

• Extension of Elementary (P-5) certification to Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (Birth-Kindergarten)
• Extension of Elementary (P-5) certification to Middle Grades (5-9)
• Extension of Middle Grades (5-9) certification to Secondary (8-12) or adding Business (5-12), Secondary (8-12), or World Language (P-12) content area
• Extension of Secondary (8-12) or World Language (P-12) certification to Middle Grades (5-9) or adding Middle Grades (5-9) content area

These programs are open to all eligible students regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, disability or age.
